Natural Cotton hand dyed unbleached muslin Bekung Belly Binding wrap to help a postpartum women's belly for physical support and to help hasten the recovery process after childbirth. This ancient traditional binding technique uses a long strip of cloth to wrap around around the abdomen from the hips to the ribcage. The thought process being to bring and/or rather "bind" together the vital women internal reproductive organs post baby in order for everything that was shifted during pregnancy will fuse back easier and faster with the wrapping.
Though this is not necessarily a westernized medically approved statement, this practice has been going on for centuries used by many cultures throughout time.
This wrap is most beneficial when used semi-immediately day 5/6 or at least 2 weeks post-delivery. It should be worn daily for 10-12 hours a day for at least 40 days or longer. Often women who use this method will see pre-pregnancy size in about 6-8 weeks.
For those who have and/or had C-sections should wait at least 6 weeks until the incision is mostly healed before they are wrapped. The wrap will provide the comfort of abdominal support since the muscles, ligaments, tissues, and the incision itself are tender and numb post delivery.
